From June 29 to July 1 of this year, a national delegation led by Mergen Gurdov, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan, conducted an official working visit to Japan. According to reports released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the diplomatic mission was organized to coordinate international institutional engagements and technical preparations.

The primary objective of the deployment to the East Asian nation was to attend the international participants' planning summit for the upcoming "GREEN EXPO 2027" world horticultural exhibition. This global event is officially scheduled to take place in the city of Yokohama from March 19 to September 26, 2027.

During the international planning summit, the Turkmen representatives engaged in comprehensive discussions regarding the architectural design, construction, and operational management of the national pavilion. The delegates actively participated in plenary and sectional sessions covering complex logistics, the scheduling of Turkmenistan's National Day, and technical site familiarization tours.

As part of the established business itinerary, the head of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry held strategic bilateral negotiations with T. Suzuki, the Executive Vice President of the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO). Furthermore, a dedicated meeting was conducted with K. Hachiyama, the Deputy Secretary-General of the "GREEN EXPO 2027" Association.

Throughout these high-level meetings, the parties evaluated prospects for expanding Turkmen-Japanese trade and commercial alliances. Specifically, the dialogue focused on finalizing Turkmenistan's integration into the horticultural expo and advancing a proposal to host a joint Turkmen-Japanese business forum in Tokyo in 2027, featuring participation from small and medium-sized enterprises.
