The Football Federation of Turkmenistan has achieved a significant milestone by launching the country's first-ever national championships for youth teams in two specific age categories: under 15 and under 17. The tournaments feature youth squads organized under the professional clubs of the nation’s Higher League. This initiative is designed to provide a structured competitive environment for young athletes, ensuring a steady pipeline of talent for professional clubs and national selections.

The U-17 championship officially commenced on March 23 with eight participating teams: Arkadag, Ahal, Altyn Asyr, Shagadam, Nebitchi, Ashgabat, Kopetdag, and Merv. The opening round delivered several decisive outcomes, with Ahal securing a 3-0 victory over Shagadam and Merv claiming a dominant 5-1 win against Kopetdag. Meanwhile, the matches between Nebitchi and Altyn Asyr, as well as Ashgabat and Arkadag, both ended in 1-1 draws, highlighting the competitive balance in the league.

The competition for the U-15 category is set to begin on March 24, involving the same eight established clubs. According to the tournament rules, both age groups will compete in a two-round format. This extensive schedule is specifically intended to offer consistent match experience, allowing young players to develop their tactical awareness and technical skills under professional-level competitive pressure throughout the season.

Sports officials view the introduction of these leagues as a vital component of the country’s long-term football development strategy. By integrating youth development directly with the nation's top-tier clubs, the Federation aims to modernize the scouting and training processes. These championships are expected to serve as a primary scouting ground for national youth teams, eventually facilitating the transition of talented players into senior professional football.

FC Barcelona and Spain midfielder Gavi (Pablo Paéz Gavira) is donating approximately €1.3 million to fund the construction of 150 homes for homeless and low-income individuals. The project will take place in his hometown of Los Palacios y Villafranca, located in the province of Seville.

According to Spanish media outlets, the development is designed to shelter around 300 people who face financial difficulties in purchasing or renting a home. The initiative is a purely charitable endeavor funded entirely by the footballer rather than a commercial real estate investment.

Specific details regarding construction timelines and eligibility criteria for housing recipients will be announced in subsequent phases of the project.
