Turkmenistan diplomatic mission in Beijing reviews results of bilateral business forum
21 May. 05:22The diplomatic representation of Turkmenistan in the People's Republic of China organized an official briefing in Beijing to analyze the outcomes of the high-level Turkmen-Chinese Business Forum and Exhibition recently held in Ashgabat. The event was attended by embassy diplomats, trade representatives, executives from the China Overseas Development Association (CODA), and top management from prominent public and private corporations of both nations.
During the introductory session, Ambassador P. Durdyev detailed pivotal investment framework opportunities across prime sectors of the national economy to foreign stakeholders. The diplomat invited Chinese enterprise leaders to expand their market presence through direct capital injection in infrastructure programs and enhanced import-export initiatives. Furthermore, schedules of upcoming industry exhibitions and economic symposia managed by Turkmen ministries and corporate departments were communicated.
Senior executives from Chinese state structures, including the SCO Demonstration Area Administrative Committee, commended the organizational execution and productivity of the Ashgabat negotiations. The participants noted that the localized B2B and B2G strategic assemblies established effective pathways for mutually beneficial long-term cooperation. Attention was drawn to the ratified memoranda of understanding, which target localized manufacturing modernization and joint digital system integration.
To secure prolonged commercial synchronization, representatives from the China Overseas Development Association expressed operational readiness to institutionalize the framework. Specifically, a combined proposal was introduced to transition the Turkmen-Chinese Business Forum and accompanying exhibition into a recurring annual platform. According to department analytical forecasts, this institutional step will deliver a stable apparatus to monitor cross-border investments and accelerate bilateral macroeconomic trade index values.

The People's Republic of Bangladesh has appointed a new head of state following a voting procedure in the national parliament. Representative of the Nationalist Party, Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, has assumed the highest state office. In his address, the Turkmen head of state expressed warm wishes on the occasion of his election to the high post. The Leader of Turkmenistan wished the new President strong health and success in all initiatives aimed at the progress and prosperity of the Bangladeshi nation.
The political transition was necessitated by the early resignation of former head of state Mohammed Shahabuddin. The previous leader stepped down due to health reasons, which required the parliament to organize elections to fill the vacant presidential post.
The parliamentary vote to elect the head of state took place on August 20, 2026. Following the count, candidate Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir secured a decisive victory with 255 votes from lawmakers, while his competitor Oli Ahmed received 88 votes.
