Turkmenistan delegation to attend international equestrian events in Tashkent
06 May. 04:32A professional group of experts from the "Turkmenatlary" State Association and members of the International Akhal-Teke Horse Breeding Association have departed for Tashkent, Uzbekistan. They are set to participate in the prestigious "Pearl of the East" international equestrian festival, which features competitive sports events and horse beauty contests. Additionally, the delegation will take part in a specialized conference focused on the Akhal-Teke horse as a symbol of regional friendship and cooperation.
The participation of Turkmen horses in these international competitions, scheduled for May 9-10, was confirmed during a recent government session. The event is regarded as a significant opportunity to further enhance the global prestige of the Akhal-Teke breed. It aims to showcase the unique cultural heritage of Turkmenistan while fostering stronger ties between equestrian professionals in the Central Asian region.
The ceremonial departure of the horses and the accompanying specialists began in the city of Arkadag. The procession traveled past the city’s landmark monuments and the central flagpole square before heading toward the highway leading to the border. This ceremonial start highlights the state-level importance attributed to preserving equestrian traditions and showcasing them on the global stage.
Current efforts in Turkmenistan are heavily focused on promoting the national horse-breeding industry and supporting the participation of elite horses in high-ranking international forums. The upcoming events in Tashkent serve as a vital platform for demonstrating the athletic prowess and unmatched beauty of the Akhal-Teke breed to an international audience.
