The headquarters of UNESCO in Paris recently hosted the 11th session of the General Assembly of the States Parties to the 2003 Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage. A high-level delegation from Turkmenistan participated in the working sessions of this international gathering, which focused on global cultural preservation and strategic compliance.

The diplomatic delegation representing the state included the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to France and Permanent Representative to UNESCO M. Çaryýew, alongside the Executive Secretary of the National Commission of Turkmenistan for UNESCO Ç. Rustemowa. Senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and national cultural heritage experts also formed part of the institutional group.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the assembly evaluated a comprehensive framework of topics associated with the systemic implementation of the 2003 Convention guidelines. The international delegates discussed methods to optimize multilateral cooperation mechanisms and strengthen the overarching global structure designed to protect ancestral and community traditions.

During the general debates, the Turkmen delegation reaffirmed its commitment to the core objectives of the international treaty, highlighting the active state policies focused on researching and promoting the country's diverse cultural assets. The representatives noted that continuous collaboration with UNESCO serves as an essential component for advancing intercultural dialogue and mutual understanding on a global scale.
