As part of the institutional regional development directives aimed at upgrading civic infrastructure and optimizing local supply chains, a major commercial marketplace is scheduled for construction in the historic city of Koneurgench, Dashoguz province. The Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations of Turkmenistan has formally initiated a competitive bidding process for the architectural design, engineering documentation, and turnkey construction of the modern market complex.

The planned commercial facility is structurally engineered to strengthen local retail operations, improve small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) expansion, and establish an integrated logistical hub for regional agricultural distribution. The construction layout will incorporate state-of-the-art climate-controlled pavilions, high-capacity cold storage units, and digital administrative systems designed to elevate food safety and service delivery metrics.

The state body invites domestic engineering firms and qualified international contractors to submit comprehensive technical and commercial proposals to the ministry's headquarters in Ashgabat. The selection matrix for the contract will heavily prioritize sustainable building methodologies, cost-effective structural solutions, and compliance with modern corporate and urban engineering standards.

Specialists at the International Science and Technology Park of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan, led by Durdymyrat Gadamov and Altyn Rahmanova, have developed a new-generation bio-agent designed to neutralize soil methane emissions. The solution utilizes local bacteria adapted to the regional climate, which harness methane monooxygenase to convert methane into carbon dioxide and water.

Methane is a major contributor to global warming, with a heat-trapping capacity in the atmosphere significantly higher than that of carbon dioxide. The newly developed bio-agent features high efficiency in industrially congested areas, cost-effectiveness through the use of local raw materials, and complete safety for human health and the environment.

This scientific breakthrough aligns with Turkmenistan's sustainable development strategy, supporting its commitments under the Global Methane Pledge to enhance environmental oversight in the energy sector.
