President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Turkmenistan, has signed a Decree regarding the regular discharge of conscripts and the next call-up of citizens for military service. Scheduled to take place between April and June 2026, this statutory procedure marks the transition of personnel within the national army and other military organizations. The directive is issued in accordance with the Constitution of Turkmenistan and the Law on Military Duty and Military Service.

The upcoming recruitment cycle applies to male citizens who have reached the age of 18 by the call-up date and do not possess legal grounds for exemption or deferment. Furthermore, the decree includes men up to the age of 27 whose previous deferment periods have expired. This institutional process ensures the continuous operational readiness of the nation’s defense sectors and upholds the systemic rotation of the military workforce.

In a supplemental Order, the President instructed the heads of defense and law enforcement ministries to organize formal dismissal ceremonies for those who have completed their service. Military personnel who demonstrated exceptional performance in combat training and humanitarian education are to be officially recognized and commended. This approach is designed to honor their contribution to national security and foster a sense of civic duty among the youth.

The Decree takes effect immediately upon its official publication, initiating the logistical operations of recruitment boards nationwide. By ensuring a high standard of organizational conduct during the transition period, the government reinforces its commitment to modernizing the Armed Forces.
