Led by senior diplomats from both nations, the meeting focused on establishing a strategic framework for bilateral cooperation across diplomatic, economic, and cultural spheres. This first formal dialogue represents a significant step forward in Turkmenistan’s foreign policy aimed at diversifying its partnerships within the Southeast Asian region.

A key highlight of the consultations was the emphasis on parliamentary diplomacy and the modernization of the legal foundations governing bilateral relations. Both delegations agreed to promote inter-parliamentary ties through the exchange of visits and the establishment of friendship groups. By enhancing their legal and regulatory frameworks, Turkmenistan and Cambodia aim to create a predictable and supportive environment for future agreements, ensuring a solid basis for joint initiatives in the years to come.

Regional integration and cooperation with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) were also central to the discussions. Cambodia formally expressed its support for Turkmenistan’s proposal to launch a "Central Asia + ASEAN" dialogue format, recognizing its potential to bridge the two dynamic regions. This alignment underscores a mutual desire to foster stability and economic growth through multi-regional cooperation platforms, positioning both countries as vital links in the Eurasian connectivity map.

The economic agenda identified several priority sectors for immediate cooperation, including the textile industry, agriculture, and processed goods. The two sides agreed to facilitate direct business contacts and trade missions to boost commercial exchange. Furthermore, logistics and transport were highlighted as essential areas for development, particularly the utilization of international transit corridors. To complement economic ties, proposals were made to host mutual Cultural Days and establish direct partnerships between tourism and educational institutions, fostering a deeper understanding between the two nations.
