He emphasized that providing these nations with equal rights to use global waterways is not only a matter of international law but also a profound moral responsibility toward future generations.

The speech highlighted the historical significance of the Third UN Conference on LLDCs, held in Turkmenistan in August 2025. The resulting Avaza Political Declaration, now an official UN document, outlines essential principles to safeguard the legal rights and needs of millions living in 44 landlocked nations. Turkmenistan reaffirmed its commitment to the systematic implementation of this declaration, seeking broad international cooperation to achieve its goals.

Turkmenistan’s diplomatic efforts are aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in energy security, environmental protection, and transport connectivity. Based on various UN General Assembly resolutions initiated by Ashgabat, the country continues to coordinate multilateral efforts to protect the interests of LLDCs. Collaborations with specialized agencies like UNIDO are seen as vital for turning these strategic goals into practical results.

The Turkmen leadership's initiative aims to integrate landlocked nations more effectively into the global economic system.
