Turkmen–Chinese Economic Forum to Explore New Opportunities for Bilateral Cooperation in Ashgabat
The Turkmen–Chinese Trade and Economic Forum titled “New Opportunities for Trade and Economic Cooperation” will be held on April 28–30, 2026, at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan. The event is organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan and the China Overseas Development Association (CODA) with the support of Talvas Yoly JSC and the Oguz Forum & Expo division.
The forum aims to enhance business ties and create a favorable platform for expanding mutually beneficial partnerships between Turkmenistan and the People’s Republic of China. Industrial and production cooperation will be one of the central themes, covering sectors such as construction, energy, hydrocarbon extraction, transportation and logistics, agriculture, innovation and IT, light and heavy industries, and the introduction of modern production technologies.
A special focus will be placed on agricultural development and food security. Participants will be introduced to innovative crop-growing technologies and digital solutions designed to increase productivity and environmental sustainability in agricultural production.
Another key direction of the forum will be transport and logistics integration. Turkmenistan will present its capabilities as a strategic link in major international transport routes. The agenda includes discussions on projects aimed at strengthening multimodal transport corridors, developing logistics infrastructure, and improving regional connectivity.
The forum is expected to gather presidents of major Chinese associations, representatives of government agencies, CEOs of leading companies, and around 500 delegates from various sectors. The scale of the event highlights its strategic importance in strengthening Turkmen–Chinese economic cooperation and expanding opportunities for joint projects.

From January to October 2025, mutual trade between Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan amounted to 404.7 million US dollars, according to data published by the Kazakh analytical platform LSM.
During the ten-month period, Turkmenistan significantly increased its exports to the neighboring country. Export volumes rose 2.3 times to 242.5 thousand tons, while their total value reached 156.3 million dollars. The most dramatic growth was recorded in the soft drinks sector, where shipments expanded more than eightfold. Exports of sulfuric acid increased by 4.1 times, and deliveries of household detergents grew by 31%.
Meanwhile, Turkmenistan’s imports of goods and services from Kazakhstan totaled 248.3 million dollars during the same period, marking a slight decrease of 0.9% year-on-year. At the same time, the physical volume of Kazakh exports to the Turkmen market increased by 29%, reaching 266 thousand tons.
