The annual "Krakow Cup," a major international tournament in traditional karate, concluded in Poland, spanning from March 10 to March 17, 2026. The competition served as a significant gathering for the martial arts community, featuring over 870 athletes from 14 different countries. Known for its rigorous standards, the Krakow Cup remains one of the most respected platforms for practitioners of traditional karate.

The Turkmenistan national team delivered a strong performance at the tournament, bringing home two bronze medals. Their success highlights the consistent growth and technical proficiency of Turkmen athletes in international martial arts competitions, where they successfully navigated a highly competitive field.

In the adult division (aged 21 and older), Selim Myratdurdyev showcased exceptional skill and perseverance, earning a bronze medal in the individual competition. His achievement underlines the dedication of the national squad and strengthens the country's position within the international karate circuit.

In the youth category (ages 12–13), Medine Gaylyeva also claimed a bronze medal. Representing the 1st Sports School of the Ashgabat Main Department of Physical Culture and Sports, she also balances her rigorous training with her studies as an 8th-grade student at Secondary School No. 20 in Balkanabat. Her podium finish serves as a promising sign for the future of Turkmen youth in combat sports.
