The Turkmen delegation is actively participating in the RES 2026 Regional Environmental Summit, held in the capital of Kazakhstan from April 22 to 24. The delegation consists of high-ranking officials and experts from the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Environmental Protection, Agriculture, Education, and Healthcare, alongside the State Committee for Water Resources. This broad representation reflects Turkmenistan’s strategic commitment to addressing regional environmental security and climate adaptation challenges.

The summit's agenda is enriched by the involvement of international partners and civil society. Key participants include the Executive Secretary of the National Commission of Turkmenistan for UNESCO, leadership from the Regional Environmental Centre for Central Asia (CAREC), and representatives from the UN's FAO. Additionally, members of the "Ýaş tebigatçy" (Young Naturalist) public organization are participating, showcasing the vital role of youth engagement and non-governmental initiatives in environmental advocacy.

A significant highlight of the summit was a thematic session initiated by the Turkmen side titled "Regional Centers for Climate Technologies and Combatting Desertification as New Opportunities for Climate Resilience in Central Asia." This session focused on fostering regional cooperation through the exchange of advanced technological solutions. Participants discussed how collective efforts in land reclamation and innovative water management can effectively mitigate the impact of global climate change on the region’s fragile ecosystems.
