The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan is currently hosting a major international scientific and practical conference titled "Turkmenistan – PR China: 20 Years of Strategic Cooperation in the Gas Sector." This landmark event celebrates two decades of energy diplomacy and provides a platform for high-ranking officials to outline future objectives for the bilateral gas trade. The forum underscores the foundational role that energy security plays in the enduring relationship between Ashgabat and Beijing.

The plenary session of the conference, moderated by the Chairman of the State Bank for Foreign Economic Affairs of Turkmenistan, focused on strategic investment and the evolution of the natural gas industry. Key speakers included the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, China's First Vice Premier, and top executives from the "Türkmengaz" State Concern and the China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC). Discussions centered on the successful integration of energy infrastructure and the shared economic benefits derived from long-term supply agreements.

The forum’s agenda is structured into two specialized thematic sessions. The first addresses investment opportunities in priority gas projects and the expansion of export logistics, while the second focuses on academic cooperation and the professional training of industry specialists. Participants also visited a specialized exhibition showcasing the latest technological advancements and industrial capabilities within Turkmenistan's energy sector.

A pivotal moment of the conference will be the formal signing ceremony of a contract between "Türkmengaz" and "CNPC Amudarya Petroleum Company Ltd" for the fourth phase of the development of the "Galkynysh" gas field. This agreement marks a significant expansion of the strategic partnership, aiming to boost production capacities at one of the world's largest gas reservoirs. This cooperation continues to serve as a key element of the energy balance across the Eurasian region.
