The Moon will turn red in the Earth's shadow during the eclipse on September 7

On September 7, a total lunar eclipse will occur, during which the Moon will be completely in the Earth's shadow for almost one and a half hours. During this time, the satellite will take on a reddish hue, according to TASS citing astronomer Lyudmila Koshman, head of the methodological support department at the Moscow Planetarium.

The maximum phase of the eclipse will last 1,368 minutes and will be observed at 23:12 Ashgabat time. The Moon will be fully immersed in the Earth's shadow from 22:31 to 23:53.

All phases of the event will be visible to residents of Asia, Europe, Africa, Antarctica, Australia, and Oceania.

Koshman also added that the next full moon, expected on August 9, will be ordinary, and the color of the Moon will remain usual.
