The animal symbolizes strength, agility, and nobility—qualities that are central to both competitive sports and the enduring philosophy of nomadic civilization.

The World Nomad Games is an international cultural and sporting phenomenon first established in 2014 by the Kyrgyz Republic. The mission of the Games is to preserve, revive, and promote the traditional games and heritage of nomadic peoples from around the globe. It serves as a vital platform for cross-cultural exchange, showcasing unique athletic disciplines that have been practiced for centuries across the steppes and mountains of various regions.

The VI World Nomad Games are scheduled to take place in Kyrgyzstan from August 31 to September 6, 2026. The opening ceremony will be held on August 31 at the "Bishkek Arena" stadium in the capital city, coinciding with Kyrgyzstan's Independence Day. More than 3,000 athletes from over 100 countries are expected to participate in the event. The program features 43 different types of ethnosports, along with various cultural and scientific activities. The official slogan of the Games is "Unity of Strength! Unity of Spirit!".
