The eastern region of Turkmenistan has officially launched its annual silkworm rearing campaign, a vital component of the nation's textile infrastructure. Leading the effort are the districts of Koytendag, Dovletli, Kerki, and Halach, where specialized farmers have begun receiving silkworm larvae. This seasonal activity follows a systematic preparation phase coordinated by the "Lebapwelaýatýüpek" production association, ensuring that all biological protocols are met for high-yield cocoon production.

The production targets for the participating districts have been clearly outlined to ensure a steady supply of raw silk. Farmers in Koytendag aim to produce 38 tons of cocoons, while those in Dovletli have committed to a 46-ton target. Significant output is expected from the Kerki and Halach districts, with quotas set at 85 and 97 tons, respectively. These figures represent a strategic effort to bolster the domestic silk industry and enhance the regional agricultural economy.

Success in silkworm rearing depends heavily on the initial revitalization of the larvae within controlled incubators. Current efforts are focused on maintaining the precise environmental conditions necessary for the healthy growth of the worms. While the eastern districts are currently leading the charge, other areas of the province are in the final stages of preparing their facilities, with mass distribution of silkworm eggs expected to reach all regional farms in the coming days.

For the current season, the eastern region as a whole aims to produce a total of 10,010 tons of silk cocoons. Local authorities and agricultural specialists have focused on providing farmers with high-quality seeds and necessary logistical support. As a traditional yet modernized sector, sericulture remains a priority for Turkmenistan, contributing significantly to the diversification of the national economy and the global competitiveness of its silk products.
