The organizers of the annual Golden Raspberry Awards (Razzies) have officially revealed the winners for the most disappointing achievements in American cinema for 2025. The sci-fi production War of the Worlds emerged as the primary "winner" of the night. Filmed in the "screenlife" format, where the narrative unfolds via computer and smartphone screens, the movie faced a devastating reception from critics, plummeting to a mere 3% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

War of the Worlds secured a total of five anti-awards, dominating categories such as Worst Picture, Worst Director (Rich Lee), and Worst Screenplay. Renowned rapper and actor Ice Cube was named Worst Actor for his leading role in the project. Interestingly, despite a production budget of approximately $10 million, the film skipped a traditional theatrical release, debuting directly on streaming services, which did little to mitigate its critical failure.

In the acting categories for women, Rebel Wilson was titled Worst Actress for her performance in the film Spy Wedding. Additionally, Scarlet Rose Stallone received the award for Worst Supporting Actress for her role in Shooters. In a unique move, the collective portrayal of the seven dwarfs in the latest Snow White adaptation was recognized with anti-awards for both Worst Supporting Actor and Worst Screen Couple/Combo.

Amidst the critiques, Kate Hudson received the prestigious "Redemption Award" for her performance in the drama The Music of Their Dreams. This specific honor acknowledges an actor's return to quality work following previous Razzie-nominated failures, specifically referencing her past win for the film Music. As per tradition, the Razzie results serve as a satirical prelude to the Academy Awards, highlighting the year's most notable cinematic missteps.

Specialists at the International Science and Technology Park of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan, led by Durdymyrat Gadamov and Altyn Rahmanova, have developed a new-generation bio-agent designed to neutralize soil methane emissions. The solution utilizes local bacteria adapted to the regional climate, which harness methane monooxygenase to convert methane into carbon dioxide and water.

Methane is a major contributor to global warming, with a heat-trapping capacity in the atmosphere significantly higher than that of carbon dioxide. The newly developed bio-agent features high efficiency in industrially congested areas, cost-effectiveness through the use of local raw materials, and complete safety for human health and the environment.

This scientific breakthrough aligns with Turkmenistan's sustainable development strategy, supporting its commitments under the Global Methane Pledge to enhance environmental oversight in the energy sector.
