On September 15, during his official visit to Doha, Turkmenistan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Rashid Meredov, met with the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani.
According to Turkmenistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Meredov conveyed greetings from President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
The two officials discussed key areas of Turkmen-Qatari cooperation, focusing on political dialogue, economic relations, and cultural and humanitarian exchanges.
Rashid Meredov is visiting Doha from September 14 to 15 to participate in the emergency meeting of the foreign ministers of the Arab League and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, as well as the extraordinary Arab-Islamic summit.
Turkmenistan expressed its official stance on recent developments, emphasizing the unacceptability of using force to resolve international conflicts, in line with the principles of the UN Charter and recognized norms of international law.

The seismic events, measuring 2.4 and 2.7 on the magnitude scale, occurred in western Lithuania near the Gargždai fault zone in December 2025. Furthermore, updated analysis of international seismic data allowed experts to reclassify a previously ambiguous 2015 tremor as a natural earthquake rather than human-induced activity.
Although the low-intensity quakes caused no structural damage or casualties, they mark the first instrumentally verified natural tectonic events recorded in modern Lithuanian history.
