From April 28 to April 30, 2026, Ashgabat will serve as a premier destination for international trade and diplomacy by hosting the Turkmenistan-China Business Forum. This high-level event, accompanied by a comprehensive trade exhibition, aims to strengthen the strategic economic ties between the two nations. The forum will take place at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan, providing a platform for discussing joint ventures, technological exchange, and large-scale investment projects across various sectors.

The event will bring together experts from sectoral ministries, representatives of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan, and leaders of prominent foreign and domestic corporations. The agenda focuses on fostering partnerships in energy, transport, high-tech manufacturing, and agriculture. By facilitating direct B2B meetings, the forum seeks to enhance bilateral trade volumes and promote innovative solutions that support the sustainable development of both economies.

The exhibition component of the event will offer a visual showcase of the latest industrial achievements and services. It will be open to the public and business representatives on April 28 and 29 from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. On the final day, April 30, the sessions and exhibition halls will remain active until 4:30 PM. Attendees located at 143 Chandibil Avenue will have the opportunity to engage with industry pioneers and explore the diverse range of products presented by Chinese and Turkmen exhibitors.

Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan and PETRONAS Sign New Memorandum

The Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan and PETRONAS Carigali (Turkmenistan) Sdn. Bhd. signed a Memorandum of Understanding to advance cooperation in education and vocational training. The signing meeting involved Minister of Education J. Gurbangeldiyev, Malaysian Ambassador Mohd Suhaimi bin Ahmad Tajuddin, and PETRONAS Carigali (Turkmenistan) CEO Ismadi bin Ismail.

The agreement coincides with the 30th anniversary of PETRONAS's operations in Turkmenistan's oil and gas sector. Discussions focused on qualifying skilled workforce candidates for the energy industry, extending scholarship opportunities for Turkmen students at Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS, and advancing professional development programs.

To date, Turkmenistan and Malaysia have established nearly 20 educational agreements. During the recent visit of the Prime Minister of Malaysia to Turkmenistan, three additional agreements were finalized between local universities and Universiti Tenaga Nasional to support academic mobility and exchange initiatives.
