The President of Turkmenistan is scheduled to visit the Republic of Korea in September 2026 to attend the historic first "Central Asia — Republic of Korea" summit in Seoul. This high-level diplomatic mission was announced by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Ahmet Gurbanov, during a formal meeting with Turkmen students enrolled in South Korean universities. The upcoming visit marks a significant milestone in regional diplomacy and underlines Turkmenistan's proactive role in Asian cooperation.

According to the Deputy Foreign Minister, the partnership between Ashgabat and Seoul has reached a qualitatively new stage of development. The forthcoming summit is expected to serve as a catalyst for expanding strategic ties across political, economic, and humanitarian sectors.
