On May 20, the Sahy Jepbarow Special Arts School in Arkadag city will host a specialized musical competition for young pianists. Organized under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan, the event serves as a platform to showcase emerging musical talent within the country.
The primary objective of this cultural initiative is to enhance the performance skills and technical proficiency of students pursuing academic music education. The competition will bring together first- to third-year students from specialized music and arts colleges across Ashgabat and all provinces, alongside pupils from the Special Boarding Music School affiliated with the Maya Kuliyeva Turkmen National Conservatory.
The event is designed to foster professional growth among young musicians and evaluate the standards of contemporary piano instruction. Participants will face a rigorous assessment by a panel of experts, focusing on artistic expression, technical execution, and stage presence.
Furthermore, the project aims to promote the extensive repertoire of renowned Turkmen and international composers who shaped the global piano tradition. By performing classical masterpieces, the young participants will contribute to preserving and disseminating world-class musical heritage among the newer generation.


Specialists at the International Science and Technology Park of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan, led by Durdymyrat Gadamov and Altyn Rahmanova, have developed a new-generation bio-agent designed to neutralize soil methane emissions. The solution utilizes local bacteria adapted to the regional climate, which harness methane monooxygenase to convert methane into carbon dioxide and water.
Methane is a major contributor to global warming, with a heat-trapping capacity in the atmosphere significantly higher than that of carbon dioxide. The newly developed bio-agent features high efficiency in industrially congested areas, cost-effectiveness through the use of local raw materials, and complete safety for human health and the environment.
This scientific breakthrough aligns with Turkmenistan's sustainable development strategy, supporting its commitments under the Global Methane Pledge to enhance environmental oversight in the energy sector.
