During her visit to Saint Petersburg, Oguljachan Atabayeva, Vice President for Medical Affairs of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Children in Need of Guardianship, toured the State Hermitage Museum.
Founded by Catherine II in 1764, the Hermitage is now recognized as one of Russia’s most significant cultural institutions. Its vast collection includes over three million works of art spanning numerous historical periods.
The museum also exhibits items connected with the history and culture of various nations, including Turkmenistan. Among them are archaeological findings from ancient Nisa and Merv, ceramic and metal artifacts, textile pieces, carpets, and samples of traditional clothing.
Following the tour, Atabayeva emphasized that culture and art play an essential role in fostering unity among peoples and reflecting the spiritual dimension of humanity. She also thanked the Russian side for the opportunity to become acquainted with the museum’s heritage.
Before leaving, she took a commemorative photograph with members of the Turkmen delegation, according to TDH.

A Spanish delegation led by Ambassador to Moscow Ricardo Martinez held talks with the Minister of Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan, focusing on strengthening bilateral cooperation in environmental matters.
During the meeting, the ambassador congratulated the Turkmen side on the International Day of Neutrality and thanked them for the warm welcome. The discussions were later reported on the official website of Turkmenistan’s environmental authority.
The agenda included cooperation in environmental protection, joint efforts to combat desertification, and measures to address plastic waste pollution. Special emphasis was placed on Turkmenistan’s presidential initiative announced at the UN General Assembly, proposing the establishment of a regional desertification prevention center for Central Asian countries, along with potential areas of collaboration.
