A specialized division for spinning camel wool and goat hair (cashmere) has been inaugurated at the Great Saparmurat Turkmenbashy Textile Complex in the city of Bayramaly, Mary Province. This new facility represents a unique addition to the regional textile industry, as it is currently the only workshop in the area dedicated to processing these specific types of natural fibers. The project aligns with Turkmenistan's broader strategy to enhance its light industry by utilizing domestic raw materials for high-value production.

The annual production capacity of the new unit is estimated at 130 tons of high-quality yarn. Equipped with advanced machinery from the prominent Italian firm Gomatex, the facility produces both dyed and undyed yarns ranging from Nm 8 to Nm 27. The technological process allows for the creation of two- and three-ply yarns, which are specifically designed to meet the rigorous standards of international export markets, ensuring durability and premium texture.

The yarns produced at this facility are intended for the manufacturing of high-end apparel, including sweaters, scarves, gloves, and coats, as well as luxury cashmere fabrics. There is a significant global demand for these natural fibers, particularly in China and European countries, where the unique thermal properties of camel hair and the softness of goat down are highly valued. By focusing on these niche products, the complex strengthens its position in the global textile supply chain.

Beyond its industrial significance, the opening of this division has a positive socio-economic impact, creating 116 new jobs in the Bayramaly region. This facility marks a shift toward more complex textile manufacturing within the country, moving from basic fiber processing to the production of specialized materials for the fashion industry. The Bayramaly Textile Complex's expansion highlights Turkmenistan’s growing capacity to produce sophisticated, export-oriented goods that cater to international luxury markets.
