In celebration of Ashgabat City Day, modern residential complexes were officially opened in the Berkararlyk and Bagtyýarlyk districts of the capital. The inauguration ceremonies brought together respected elders, mothers, representatives of public organizations and the media, university students, and local residents. The festive atmosphere was elevated by vibrant performances from cultural figures and children's creative groups, while outstanding construction workers received valuable gifts on behalf of the Head of State.
In the 8th microdistrict of the Berkararlyk district, keys were handed over to families moving into new 5-story residential buildings with 60 and 80 apartments. The living rooms, balconies, and kitchens are fully equipped with premium home appliances and high-quality furniture. The surrounding areas feature children's playgrounds and dedicated spaces for community celebrations.
Simultaneously, a community of 78 two-story, 5-room cottages was inaugurated in the "Choganly" housing estate of the Bagtyýarlyk district. These homes were built and decorated using eco-friendly local materials tailored to regional climate conditions. The cottages are surrounded by landscaped green spaces and integrated with modern road and engineering infrastructure. To provide residents with everyday goods and essentials, two new shopping and service centers were also launched on-site.

Specialists at the International Science and Technology Park of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan, led by Durdymyrat Gadamov and Altyn Rahmanova, have developed a new-generation bio-agent designed to neutralize soil methane emissions. The solution utilizes local bacteria adapted to the regional climate, which harness methane monooxygenase to convert methane into carbon dioxide and water.
Methane is a major contributor to global warming, with a heat-trapping capacity in the atmosphere significantly higher than that of carbon dioxide. The newly developed bio-agent features high efficiency in industrially congested areas, cost-effectiveness through the use of local raw materials, and complete safety for human health and the environment.
This scientific breakthrough aligns with Turkmenistan's sustainable development strategy, supporting its commitments under the Global Methane Pledge to enhance environmental oversight in the energy sector.
