According to the National Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan, approximately 80,000 citizens of Turkmenistan traveled to the neighboring republic between January and March 2026. The official report states that 79,000 Turkmen tourists visited the country during this period, marking an increase of 1,100 people compared to the same timeframe in the previous year. This steady rise reflects the growing cross-border mobility and strengthening regional ties.

In terms of the total number of foreign visitors, Turkmenistan currently ranks seventh among the countries contributing to Uzbekistan’s tourism sector. The top five nations on the list are the Kyrgyz Republic (807,000 visitors), Tajikistan (713,900), Kazakhstan (681,900), Russia (223,200), and Afghanistan (120,100). The consistent presence of Turkmen travelers in these statistics highlights Uzbekistan as a preferred destination for both cultural and leisure trips within Central Asia.

Overall, Uzbekistan welcomed more than 2.87 million international tourists during the first three months of 2026. This figure represents a substantial 36.6% growth in tourist arrivals compared to the first quarter of 2025.
