During a recent inspection of Arkadag City’s ongoing expansion, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, expressed dissatisfaction with the current pace of development. At a working session with the leadership of the State Construction Committee and the city’s administration, he pointed out that the progress of several key projects has fallen significantly behind the established schedule. The National Leader formally criticized the performance of the officials in charge, noting that the work fails to meet the expected quality standards.

The critique focused on the lack of rigorous oversight, which has led to a noticeable decline in the efficiency of the construction crews. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized that as a pioneering "smart city" project, Arkadag must represent the pinnacle of engineering excellence and architectural integrity. He demanded an immediate overhaul of the construction management process to ensure that every structure reflects the prestige and modernization goals of the state, without any compromises in safety or aesthetics.

A significant portion of the session was dedicated to the Akhal-Teke Horses Avenue, the city’s primary arterial road. The National Leader expressed specific concern regarding the slow progress on this thoroughfare, instructing the construction committee to expedite all remaining works immediately. He stressed that the avenue is vital for the city's logistical operations and must be completed and opened for public use without further delay. Increased mobilization of machinery and labor was identified as a critical requirement to meet the upcoming deadlines.

Concluding the meeting, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov issued a directive for the implementation of a continuous and transparent monitoring system for all ongoing projects within the second phase of Arkadag’s development. He warned that any persistent deficiencies in either the pace or the quality of construction would result in strict administrative consequences for the responsible parties. The National Leader urged the city’s planners and contractors to align their efforts with the nation’s vision for high-tech, sustainable urban growth, ensuring that all shortcomings are rectified promptly.
