As part of the celebrations for the National Day of the Turkmen Horse, a grand opening ceremony for a monument dedicated to the legendary Akhal-Teke stallion Piyada was held at the Ashgabat Equestrian Sports Complex. The event serves as a tribute to one of the most distinguished representatives of the breed, whose achievements have left an indelible mark on the history of international horse breeding.

Piyada gained widespread fame for his exceptional aesthetic qualities and athletic prowess, securing numerous victories in national beauty contests over several consecutive years. Furthermore, his success extended beyond national borders, as he twice claimed the top honors at prestigious international competitions in the region. The newly inaugurated monument captures the grace and spirit of this iconic stallion for future generations.

During the ceremony, government officials emphasized the strategic importance of preserving the purebred lineage of Akhal-Teke horses. It was noted that Piyada’s legacy continues to inspire modern breeders and contributes significantly to the global recognition of Turkmenistan’s equestrian traditions. The statue is now a focal point within the sports complex, symbolizing the deep cultural bond between the nation and its horses.

The festivities also included an international beauty contest featuring elite Akhal-Teke horses from various stables. The competition concluded with the selection of a new champion, Hankerwen, representing the Presidential Equestrian Complex. Turkmenistan Develops Bio-Agent to Neutralize Methane Emissions

Specialists at the International Science and Technology Park of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan, led by Durdymyrat Gadamov and Altyn Rahmanova, have developed a new-generation bio-agent designed to neutralize soil methane emissions. The solution utilizes local bacteria adapted to the regional climate, which harness methane monooxygenase to convert methane into carbon dioxide and water.

Methane is a major contributor to global warming, with a heat-trapping capacity in the atmosphere significantly higher than that of carbon dioxide. The newly developed bio-agent features high efficiency in industrially congested areas, cost-effectiveness through the use of local raw materials, and complete safety for human health and the environment.

This scientific breakthrough aligns with Turkmenistan's sustainable development strategy, supporting its commitments under the Global Methane Pledge to enhance environmental oversight in the energy sector.
