The Mayor of Ashgabat, Rahim Gandymov, recently met with the Ambassador of Uzbekistan, Ravshanbek Alimov, to explore new opportunities for cooperation between the two capitals. According to the "Dunyo" news agency, the discussion highlighted the steady growth of Turkmen-Uzbek relations across all sectors, emphasizing that the partnership between Ashgabat and Tashkent serves as a cornerstone of the broader strategic alliance between the two nations.

A central point of the meeting was the practical implementation of the sister-city agreement. The officials discussed expanding trade and economic cooperation, increasing the frequency of reciprocal delegation visits, and launching joint investment projects. They also focused on enhancing cultural and humanitarian exchanges, which are vital for fostering mutual understanding and strengthening the historical bonds between the Turkmen and Uzbek peoples.

Special emphasis was placed on the symbolic importance of the "Tashkent" park in Ashgabat and the "Ashgabat" park in Tashkent. These recreation areas were identified as powerful symbols of the enduring friendship and cultural synergy between the two countries. The parties reviewed proposals for organizing cultural events and festivals dedicated to significant national holidays, aimed at showcasing the shared traditions and modern achievements of both nations.
