Kazakh Musician Sets World Record by Performing Over 100 Folk Songs Non-Stop
15 Jun. 11:58Kairat Kabyshev, a lecturer at Shakarim University, has secured a place in the Asian-African Book of World Records under the ethno-cultural category. During a cultural event in the Abai region, the musician performed 102 Kazakh folk songs completely non-stop over a duration of 5 hours and 29 minutes.
The performance was conducted entirely from memory, without any sheet music, lyrics, or backing tracks, with the artist providing his own instrumental accompaniment. Although the official guidelines permitted a 15-minute break after every 25 songs, the performer chose to sing continuously. Following the official verification of the achievement, Kabyshev was awarded a silver medal and a certificate. The milestone is set to be featured in the 2026 print edition of the Book of World Records.
