National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a working meeting on the organization of the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports.

The meeting took place during Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov's working visit to the Balkan velayat. As the National Leader noted, on July 4, the President of Turkmenistan signed a resolution on holding the conference at a high organizational level.

“Currently, the country’s ministries and industry departments are carrying out the appropriate preparatory work for this major international event,” Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized.

He reminded that an agreement on holding the conference was signed between the government of Turkmenistan and the UN. In this regard, the National Leader called for "making appropriate efforts to successfully implement the tasks arising from this document."

Special attention at the meeting was paid to the preparation of the “Avaza” National Tourist Zone for receiving foreign delegations. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized the need to improve the territory and create conditions in hotels for high-quality service to guests, including medical services.

The National Leader also focused on security issues, instructing the military and law enforcement agencies to ensure public order during the events.

According to Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, special importance should be given to the cultural and humanitarian program of the forum, including a friendship concert and a festival of national dishes, timed to coincide with the national days of the Central Asian countries.

In addition, the importance of effective use of Internet resources for covering the upcoming conference was emphasized.

After completing his working visit to the Balkan velayat, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov returned to Ashgabat, where he was met at the international airport by officials.
