07 Apr. 05:56The National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, extended heartfelt congratulations to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov on the occasion of World Health Day. On behalf of the people of Turkmenistan and the Halk Maslakhaty, the message emphasized the strategic importance of the current year's domestic and foreign policy events. The greeting highlights that the human being is the highest value of the state, a principle consistently upheld through large-scale reforms in the national healthcare system.
The congratulatory letter underscores the significant achievements of the "Saglyk" State Program, which has transformed the medical landscape of the country. Across all regions, modern hospitals, wellness centers, and specialized clinics are being commissioned, providing citizens with access to world-class medical services. These developments are aimed at improving the quality of primary healthcare and enhancing the material and technical base of treatment facilities, reflecting the core state principle that the prosperity of the nation depends on the well-being of its citizens.
A key milestone mentioned in the address is the adoption of the National Strategy for the Development of Scientific and Medical Diplomacy for 2026–2052. This long-term initiative demonstrates Turkmenistan's commitment to international cooperation and the continuous modernization of medical science. Current projects, such as the construction of the International Pediatric and Oncology Centers and the expansion of the Archman Sanatorium, serve as concrete evidence of the state's proactive approach to public health and international scientific integration.
The message also noted that the international community highly values Turkmenistan’s efforts, as evidenced by the special award from the World Health Organization presented to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov. This accolade recognizes the nation’s contribution to promoting peace and diplomacy through healthcare initiatives. Concluding the address, the National Leader wished the President robust health and continued success in his noble endeavors to ensure a prosperous and vibrant future for the Turkmen people.

Specialists at the International Science and Technology Park of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan, led by Durdymyrat Gadamov and Altyn Rahmanova, have developed a new-generation bio-agent designed to neutralize soil methane emissions. The solution utilizes local bacteria adapted to the regional climate, which harness methane monooxygenase to convert methane into carbon dioxide and water.
Methane is a major contributor to global warming, with a heat-trapping capacity in the atmosphere significantly higher than that of carbon dioxide. The newly developed bio-agent features high efficiency in industrially congested areas, cost-effectiveness through the use of local raw materials, and complete safety for human health and the environment.
This scientific breakthrough aligns with Turkmenistan's sustainable development strategy, supporting its commitments under the Global Methane Pledge to enhance environmental oversight in the energy sector.
