On May 26, during a working visit to New York, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov, met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the diplomats reviewed the current state of Turkmen-Azerbaijani relations and discussed strategic opportunities to expand cooperation across various sectors.

The dialogue focused heavily on strengthening political and diplomatic interaction, maintaining active communication at the highest state levels, and ensuring the timely implementation of agreements reached during previous high-level bilateral summits. The ministers also emphasized the critical importance of continuously solidifying the legal and treaty framework between Ashgabat and Baku.

Furthermore, Foreign Ministers Meredov and Bayramov exchanged views on multilateral cooperation within international and regional bodies, particularly the United Nations. They highlighted the traditional practice of mutual support for each other's initiatives in global arenas and discussed close coordination for upcoming high-level international events. At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties reaffirmed their strong commitment to advancing the historical bonds of friendship, brotherhood, and good-neighborliness between Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan.
