The Government of the Republic of Uganda has officially declared the successful termination of the Ebola outbreak that was initially detected in the country in May. As reported by the TASS news agency, referencing an official statement released by the Ministry of Health on the social media platform X, the containment measures have proven fully effective.

Ugandan Minister of Health Chris Baryomunsi confirmed that the nation is now officially free from the infectious virus. The declaration follows strict compliance with international health standards and rigorous monitoring procedures conducted across affected administrative zones.

The formal resolution to declare the end of the outbreak was adopted following the completion of a mandatory 42-day surveillance window, which commenced on June 16. This monitoring phase was initiated immediately after the final recovered patient tested negative and was discharged from clinical care.

Reaching this milestone required two full 21-day incubation cycles of zero new confirmed cases since the last patient's recovery. The successful containment highlights the efficiency of Uganda's public health emergency response and contact-tracing infrastructure.
