President Serdar Berdimuhamedov has officially signed a decree regarding the production of rice in Turkmenistan for the year 2026 during a digital Cabinet of Ministers meeting. According to the "Watan" news program, this strategic document aims to advance ongoing reforms in the agricultural sector, increase the volume of domestic food production, and ensure the successful cultivation of a high-yield rice harvest across the designated regions.

Under the terms of the decree, the Ministry of Agriculture, the "Türkmengallaönümleri" State Association, and the regional administrations (hakimliks) of Dashoguz and Lebap provinces have been tasked with overseeing the production cycle. These provinces, recognized as the nation's primary rice-growing hubs, are expected to implement comprehensive measures to maximize output while maintaining the quality standards of the grain.

The decree emphasizes that rice production and crop rotation must be organized on a strictly scientific basis, adhering to the latest requirements of agrotechnical science.
