On May 17, 2026, Ashgabat will host an exclusive masterclass featuring two core members of the creative team behind the award-winning animated feature "Flow" (2024). This Latvian cinematic achievement gained global fame by securing the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature Film and being named the best European animation of its year. The event offers a rare opportunity for local talents to engage with world-class animation professionals.

The session is scheduled to take place at the Art Nokady creative space, located within the Arkaç Business Center, starting at 11:00 AM. Due to the interactive nature of the workshop, attendance is strictly limited to 15 participants through a preliminary online registration process. The forum is designed for filmmakers, animators, digital artists, and students eager to learn about high-level industry standards.

Directed by Gints Zilbalodis, "Flow" is widely celebrated as a milestone in independent cinema. Produced with a relatively modest budget of approximately 3.5 million euros by a dedicated team of specialists, the film proved that artistic vision and technological ingenuity can overcome financial constraints. Turkmenistan Develops Bio-Agent to Neutralize Methane Emissions

Specialists at the International Science and Technology Park of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan, led by Durdymyrat Gadamov and Altyn Rahmanova, have developed a new-generation bio-agent designed to neutralize soil methane emissions. The solution utilizes local bacteria adapted to the regional climate, which harness methane monooxygenase to convert methane into carbon dioxide and water.

Methane is a major contributor to global warming, with a heat-trapping capacity in the atmosphere significantly higher than that of carbon dioxide. The newly developed bio-agent features high efficiency in industrially congested areas, cost-effectiveness through the use of local raw materials, and complete safety for human health and the environment.

This scientific breakthrough aligns with Turkmenistan's sustainable development strategy, supporting its commitments under the Global Methane Pledge to enhance environmental oversight in the energy sector.
