Lou Salas, a resident of Colorado Springs, USA, has successfully assembled one of the world's most extensive commercial jigsaw puzzles, consisting of 60,000 individual pieces. The monumental task spanned a total of four years, culminating in a complete representation of the global map. The puzzle, marketed as "Dowdle’s World’s Largest Puzzle," comprises 60 separate boxes, each containing 1,000 pieces that interlock to form a singular, massive image.

The artwork, designed by renowned artist Eric Dowdle in 2022, features a comprehensive map of the world adorned with hundreds of global landmarks. Salas reportedly spent the first two years contemplating the logistical aspects of the project, specifically focusing on finding an adequate space to house such a large-scale endeavor before beginning the actual assembly.

The assembly phase alone required approximately 800 hours of meticulous labor. Utilizing a spacious three-car garage, Salas managed to reconstruct all seven continents and numerous world wonders. During the final stages of the process, he received assistance from family and friends to ensure the precise alignment of the large interconnected sections.

Production of this specific 60,000-piece set has currently ceased, rendering the completed work a rare collector's item. Originally purchased for $600, the puzzle has now become a local sensation. Rather than keeping the finished masterpiece, Salas has expressed his intention to donate the giant puzzle to fellow enthusiasts of the craft.
