AWAZA, June 7, 2026 — The beautiful resort city of Awaza played host to a vibrant Curtain Raiser event today, marking the upcoming celebrations of the 12th International Day of Yoga. The gathering brought together numerous participants to promote global health, harmony, and peace. Established by the United Nations General Assembly in 2014 and celebrated annually on June 21, the official theme for this year's International Yoga Day is "Yoga for Healthy Ageing," highlighting the practice's profound benefits for wellness and wisdom.
Originating in India over 5,000 years ago, yoga has evolved into a vital contemporary tool for stress reduction and overall well-being. Since 2015, it has served as a crucial cultural and spiritual bridge in India-Turkmenistan relations. A prime example of this enduring bond is the Yoga and Traditional Medicine Centre at the Bagtyyarlyk Sports Complex in Ashgabat, which was inaugurated during Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Turkmenistan. The Indian Embassy expressed its deep gratitude to the Government of Turkmenistan for its continuous support in running the centre and co-hosting annual mass yoga sessions.
The event concluded with an inspiring call to incorporate yoga into daily routines, emphasizing that it is a free, accessible practice for all ages that enhances memory, builds inner strength, and promotes focus. Participants united in a shared commitment to health and harmony, exchanging warm wishes for a Happy International Day of Yoga 2026.

American researchers have initiated trials for a new pharmaceutical compound designated as ENV-308, designed to replicate the physiological effects of intensive physical training. Formulated in tablet form, the medication aims to trigger the body's metabolic responses similar to those experienced during exercise.
Scientists at Enveda utilized the Lac-Phe molecule as the core component for this development. Naturally produced by the body during vigorous exertion, this molecule transmits signals to the brain that suppress appetite and signal satiety.
Preclinical trials conducted on animal models demonstrated significant positive results. The tablets effectively reduced hunger levels and facilitated weight loss while entirely preserving existing muscle mass.
Researchers have successfully completed the first phase of clinical trials, confirming the safety of the drug for human use. Future studies will focus on evaluating the compound's impact on metabolism and exploring its potential combination with established therapeutics such as Ozempic.
