An 80-year-old retired engineer from Sydney has decided to auction a luxury coastal estate worth approximately $13.9 million, which he recently won in the RSL Queensland Dream Home Art Union lottery. The winner, who had never secured a prize in his life, initially mistook the notification of his multi-million dollar windfall for a fraudulent scheme.

The prize property, an architectural masterpiece named "Maslina," is situated in the prestigious Sunshine Beach area, just 50 meters from the shoreline. Designed in a Mediterranean style, the three-story residence comes fully equipped with high-end amenities, including a professional gym, a wine cellar, a sauna, and a spa. Additionally, the lottery win included $250,000 in gold bullion and over $400,000 worth of luxury furnishings.

Despite the grandeur of the estate, the owner has opted to liquidate the asset to prioritize his family's long-term financial security. He stated that the proceeds from the sale would be utilized to support his children and grandchildren, viewing the divestment as a practical move to ensure the prosperity of his heirs rather than maintaining a high-maintenance vacation home.
