A Private Sector Forum Will Be Held in Turkmenistan as Part of the UN Conference

At the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries, Turkmenistan’s Private Sector Will Gain Global Exposure

As part of the Third United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDCs), a Private Sector Forum will be held — a unique platform aimed at strengthening the position of Turkmenistan’s small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and integrating them into global supply chains.

According to TDH (Turkmen State News Agency), the Forum organizers are placing special emphasis on its role in addressing the challenges posed by the country’s geographic location.

Special sessions and events on the sidelines of the Conference will focus on entrepreneurship, attracting investment, developing logistics and transport corridors, and expanding trade relations.

Turkmen entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to present their projects, exchange experience with colleagues from other countries, and establish new business contacts. This will create favorable conditions for signing mutually beneficial agreements and implementing joint initiatives.

Turkmenistan's entrepreneurship is no longer limited to traditional sectors. An increasing number of companies are investing in innovative projects that contribute to sustainable development — including the adoption of energy-efficient technologies, the development of renewable energy sources, the production of environmentally friendly goods, and the use of resource-saving methods.

For example, in agriculture, farmers are actively using advanced agro-technologies, drip irrigation systems, and organic farming methods, which help increase crop yields while using water resources more efficiently. In the industrial sector, more enterprises are adopting environmental management standards and reducing waste volumes.

The upcoming Conference, held in the Avaza National Tourist Zone, will provide new opportunities to deepen cooperation between Turkmenistan’s private sector and international organizations — including various UN agencies, financial institutions, and donor organizations.

In this way, the Private Sector Forum will mark a significant milestone in the development of entrepreneurship in Turkmenistan and will notably strengthen its position on the international stage. This event is expected not only to draw attention to the potential of Turkmen businesses but also to serve as a catalyst for further development of market mechanisms and the attraction of foreign investment.
