On May 26, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov, initiated an official working visit to New York City to participate in the high-level open debates of the United Nations Security Council. The ministerial session focuses specifically on upholding the purposes and principles of the UN Charter and strengthening the multilateral global system with the United Nations at its center.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the official program includes a sequence of strategic bilateral and multilateral meetings with UN top officials and foreign dignitaries. The diplomats will address critical matters on the international agenda, primarily focusing on maintaining global peace, enhancing security cooperation, and optimizing the UN’s leading role in resolving modern international disputes.
