The bilateral trade relationship between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan has seen a significant boost in the first two months of 2026, with turnover rising by 26 million US dollars compared to the previous year. Official statistics highlight a robust upward trend, reflecting the deepening economic integration and the effectiveness of strategic partnerships between the two neighboring nations. This growth underscores the resilience of regional supply chains and the increasing demand for cross-border commercial exchange.

During the January-February period, the total trade volume between the two countries reached 149.5 million US dollars, a notable increase from the 123.5 million dollars recorded during the same timeframe last year. As a result, Turkmenistan has secured the 13th position among Uzbekistan’s top global trading partners. This advancement is attributed to a diversified trade portfolio that includes energy resources, agricultural products, and manufactured goods.

Turkmenistan’s export performance has been particularly strong, with goods worth 121.5 million dollars entering the Uzbek market in the first two months of the year. This represents a 25.9 million dollar increase over the previous year's figures, positioning Turkmenistan as the 9th largest source of imports for Uzbekistan. The surge in exports highlights the growing capacity of Turkmenistan’s industrial sector to meet international standards and the specific needs of regional consumers.

The positive trajectory in trade is supported by ongoing efforts to modernize border infrastructure and streamline logistical operations between the two states. Economic experts predict that the implementation of new trade agreements and the activation of joint business ventures will further stimulate growth throughout the year.
