Turkmenistan Showcases Advanced Ecological City Concepts at the World Urban Forum in Baku
19 May. 11:09The 13th session of the World Urban Forum, co-organized by UN-Habitat and the host government, officially commenced its high-level panels in the capital of Azerbaijan. The multilateral event serves as an integrated platform for coordinating comprehensive urban design, gathering global policymakers and technical experts. A senior administrative delegation from Turkmenistan, representing state construction committees, actively participated in the multilateral configurations.
During the structural address, the head of the national delegation presented the country’s extensive expertise in modern civil engineering and infrastructure layout, focusing on the smart city model of Arkadag. The presentation highlighted that the foundational blueprints of the newly established city rely on thorough environmental risk assessments, introducing carbon-neutral transit systems, smart municipal networks, and a highly specialized medical production cluster.
Prior to the official assembly sessions, the head of the Turkmen delegation was received by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan for bilateral consultations. The high-level meeting emphasized the deep-rooted diplomatic solidarity and close bilateral alignment between the two nations. In addition to reviewing the strategic items on the forum agenda, the leaders thoroughly discussed the ongoing construction progress of a major spiritual and cultural complex being constructed by Turkmen builders in the city of Fuzuli.
