Today, regional stakeholders are reviewing the outcomes of the key conference titled "Protecting the Rights of Education Workers: The Role of Trade Unions in Modern Conditions," which took place from July 8 to 11, 2026, in the Issyk-Kul region of the Kyrgyz Republic. A delegation from Turkmenistan, featuring P. Ovezov and K. Bugrayev from the National Center of Trade Unions, alongside B. Annagurbanova, a department head at the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan, actively participated in the event. During the sessions, the Turkmen delegation tabled several practical proposals to enhance regional cooperation.

The Turkmen delegation emphasized that domestic trade union operations are strictly aligned with the Constitution and national legislation focused on safeguarding workers' welfare. Furthermore, the delegation highlighted expanding cooperation with the ILO's Bureau for Workers' Activities (ACTRAV). Under the joint work plan for 2026–2027, the partners plan to organize a regional trade union leaders' meeting, host an international conference in Ashgabat, and arrange specialized training programs for experts in Turin, Italy.

Turkmenistan’s primary strategic proposal involves establishing a unified information and legal database for regional trade unions, intensifying knowledge exchange in occupational safety, and promoting active participation of women and youth in union initiatives. Representatives from Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Azerbaijan also shared their insights on protecting educators' rights, reforming union frameworks, and implementing digital tools. The conference concluded with all participating nations reaffirming their commitment to deepening regional integration and strengthening the legal foundations of labor relations.
