Amanmuhammet Sazakov, Chairman of the State Migration Service of Turkmenistan, represented the country at the second International Migration Review Forum held at the United Nations headquarters in New York. During the plenary session, the Turkmen delegation reaffirmed its commitment to international law, the UN Charter, and humanitarian principles. Turkmenistan continues to align its national legislation and sustainable development programs with the goals of the Global Compact for Migration through a robust multi-agency coordination mechanism.

A key highlight of the presentation was Turkmenistan's success in modernizing its identity document system. The State Migration Service provides biometric documents and residence permits that strictly adhere to the international standards of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). These high-security documents are equipped with multi-level protection systems, ensuring the integrity of the migration process and facilitating safe, orderly, and legal movement across borders.

The delegation also emphasized the significance of the global initiative proposed by the President of Turkmenistan to create a World Platform for Digital Integration. This project aims to introduce advanced information technologies into migration management, fostering equality and trust among international partners. By leveraging digital tools, Turkmenistan seeks to enhance data exchange and streamline administrative procedures, contributing to a more interconnected and transparent global migration framework.

The forum served as a premier intergovernmental platform for reviewing the implementation of the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly, and Legal Migration. It brought together high-level representatives from UN member states, the International Organization for Migration (IOM), and various civil society groups. Turkmenistan reiterated its readiness to further expand its legal and contractual framework with international organizations, focusing on digital innovation and humanitarian cooperation to achieve long-term sustainable development goals.
