Students and faculty members from the Myrat Garryýew State Medical University of Turkmenistan recently participated in an international training program focused on traditional medicine in Beijing. Hosted by the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine and organized by the World Federation of Acupuncture-Moxibustion Societies, the course provided an intensive learning experience for future medical professionals from Turkmenistan and other Central Asian countries.

The curriculum integrated theoretical lectures with hands-on practical sessions, covering the historical development of traditional Chinese medicine and its modern applications in patient rehabilitation. A significant portion of the training was dedicated to pharmacognosy, where students explored the cultivation, harvesting, and processing of medicinal plants used in the creation of various pharmaceutical products.

Beyond the classroom, the participants engaged in cultural excursions to medical museums and historic sites, such as the Great Wall of China. These activities were designed to foster a deeper understanding of the cultural context in which traditional healing practices evolved. The program highlighted the importance of integrating traditional knowledge with contemporary medical science to enhance overall healthcare delivery.

The successful completion of this international course underscores the growing academic cooperation between Turkmenistan and China in the field of healthcare.
