Turkmenistan’s youth wrestling team celebrated a podium success at the Asian Youth Championship held in Da Nang, Vietnam. Freestyle wrestler Shaapbas Esgerov earned a bronze medal in the highly competitive under-80 kg weight category. The young athlete displayed exceptional resilience and tactical prowess throughout the continental tournament.

In the decisive match for the third-place podium, Esgerov faced Japanese contender Yusei Nagata, securing a commanding 9:3 victory to claim the bronze. Meanwhile, the gold medal in this division went to Iran's Amirali Mohammad Ferasati, who defeated India's Mandeep Mandeep with a score of 10:0, while Kazakh wrestler Adilbek Erbolatov captured the second bronze medal of the category.

Turkmenistan was represented at this prestigious continental event by a total of ten promising athletes. The national coaching staff split the squad into two disciplines, entering six competitors in the freestyle wrestling tournaments and four in the Greco-Roman categories. The event featured elite youth prospects from top wrestling nations across Asia.
