Turkmen Company "Aydyn Gijeler" to Produce High-Tech Identification Documents for Eswatini
30 May. 16:58High-level strategic negotiations took place in Abu Dhabi between His Majesty King Mswati III of the Kingdom of Eswatini and a delegation from the Turkmen economic society "Aydyn Gijeler," led by Director General Hydyrberdi Abdurahmanov. The meeting resulted in a major institutional agreement aimed at implementing a large-scale project for the production and supply of next-generation secured documents and high-tech products. As part of this comprehensive partnership, manufacturing facilities will be allocated to the Turkmen enterprise within the African nation.
During the audience, King Mswati III expressed full state support for the execution of the joint venture, which outlines the manufacturing and delivery of 1,500,000 national identity cards and over 500,000 biometric passports for Eswatini citizens. This initiative serves as a pivotal move to modernize the kingdom's civil registration and identification systems through advanced digital solutions. Top-tier officials from Eswatini's state leadership also attended the high-profile meeting to finalize the terms.
The technological framework for the newly designed documents will utilize a highly secure chip platform developed by the European manufacturer Austrian Cards. The production process will incorporate state-of-the-art cryptographic and biometric technologies, strictly complying with the standards established by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and the European Union. This ensures the highest level of security and global interoperability for the issuance of electronic documents.
The bilateral agreements establish a strategic and long-term foundation for partnership between Turkmenistan and the Kingdom of Eswatini, extending beyond digital identity to encompass telecommunications, IT, lighting technology, and road infrastructure. To further detail the expansion of economic ties, the "Aydyn Gijeler" delegation conducted separate working sessions with Eswatini's Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Home Affairs, and Commerce, Industry and Trade.

On-the-Go Power: Japanese Engineers Develop Wireless In-Road Charging for Electric Vehicles
10 Oct. 08:10In a major leap for electric mobility, Honda R&D, alongside Taisei Corporation and Taisei Rotec, has unveiled an innovative dynamic wireless charging system that charges electric vehicles as they drive. By embedding compact energy-transmitting modules directly into the road surface, the system transfers power via a magnetic field to receivers mounted underneath moving vehicles. Designed to withstand heavy commercial transport up to 20 tons, real-world road testing is scheduled to begin in Japan in April 2027.
The technology eliminates the need for full road reconstruction, as modules can be integrated directly into milled asphalt layers. Aimed at boosting charging power up to 150 kW in future iterations, this infrastructure solution promise to significantly reduce grid pressure on traditional charging stations, particularly for logistics and commercial fleets.
