Turkmen and Chinese Charitable Foundations Sign Memorandum of Understanding
As part of the Turkmen delegation’s visit to the People’s Republic of China, Oguljahan Atabaeva, Vice President for Medical Affairs of the Charitable Foundation named after Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, met with Ms. Li Bin, Chairwoman of the Soong Ching Ling Foundation of China.
During the meeting, both sides highlighted the longstanding friendship between the Turkmen and Chinese peoples. It was emphasized that cooperation between the two foundations would enrich humanitarian ties between the two nations.
Oguljahan Atabaeva expressed interest in sharing experiences and confirmed that the Turkmen side is open to participating in socially oriented projects aimed at supporting children.
Following the discussions, the parties signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation and the Soong Ching Ling Foundation.
The Soong Ching Ling Foundation is a well-known non-governmental charitable organization in China, established in 1982 and named after Soong Ching Ling, the wife of Sun Yat-sen and honorary Chairperson of the PRC.

A ceremony for laying the foundation of the Turkmenbashi – Garabogaz highway, spanning 207 km, was held in Balkan velayat of Turkmenistan, reports the newspaper "Neutral Turkmenistan."
The highway starts from the coastal etrap of Turkmenbashi, where a festive event was held on the occasion, featuring masters of culture and art from the velayat.
Construction has been entrusted to road builders of the economic society "Altyn nesil," who guarantee completion on schedule. All conditions for the project are provided: crushed stone and gravel are extracted from a local quarry, and road bitumen is produced at the Turkmenbashi Complex Oil Refinery.
According to the project, the highway will be two-way with a width of 21 m, featuring asphalt pavement and technical characteristics meeting international standards.
Construction is planned in two stages: Turkmenbashi – Garabogaz and Garabogaz – Serhetaka (Kazakhstan). Upon completion of the second stage, the road will open a transport corridor to neighboring countries in the region.
