During a recent televised address, the Minister emphasized that Turkiye continues to be a safe and reliable haven for international travelers. This strategic positioning is supported by the nation's proactive diplomatic efforts to foster regional peace and its robust internal security measures.
Speaking on "CNN Turk," Ersoy highlighted Turkiye’s extensive expertise in crisis management, which has allowed the country to maintain its economic momentum despite external pressures. He pointed out that the nation’s ability to navigate complex regional dynamics while ensuring a high standard of hospitality is a primary driver of its tourism success. This resilience has bolstered global confidence in Turkiye as a top-tier destination for both leisure and business travel.
The financial outlook for the Turkish tourism sector remains highly optimistic, with a revenue target of $68 billion set for the current year. This goal follows a stellar performance in the previous year, during which the country welcomed 63.9 million international visitors, generating approximately $65.2 billion in income. These figures underscore the vital role that the tourism industry plays in supporting Turkiye's national economy and its overall development goals.
Statistical data indicates that Russia remains the leading source of tourism for Türkiye, contributing 6.9 million visitors last year. This trend highlights the strong cultural and economic ties between the two nations and the enduring appeal of Turkish resorts. As Turkiye continues to expand its market reach, its reputation for stability and high-quality service remains the cornerstone of its international branding as a premier global travel hub.

Recent sightings and acoustic tracking confirm that jackals have established populations in the Czech Republic, the Baltic region, and even Scandinavia. The species thrives in areas with mild winters, mixed agricultural landscapes, and proximity to water sources. Regional climate warming has transformed previously uninhabitable northern areas into suitable habitats, while farming landscapes offer abundant food sources and coverage.
Biologists attribute this unprecedented expansion primarily to the historical decline of wolf populations, which naturally suppress jackal numbers and limit their movement. Smaller than wolves but slightly larger than foxes, jackals feed on small rodents, carrion, plants, and fruits. Their high ecological adaptability allows them to settle efficiently into newly colonized territories without human interference.
However, their entry into Western and Southern Europe, including countries like France and Spain, poses potential ecological consequences. Environmentalists warn that the arrival of jackals could disrupt local ecosystems and threaten endangered ground-nesting steppe birds and smaller wildlife across the Iberian Peninsula.
