"There Is No Winner in War" — The National Leader of the Turkmen People on Resolving Global Conflicts
21 Mar. 12:24During his friendly visit to the People's Republic of China, the National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, gave an interview to the "CGTN" TV channel, where he addressed the pressing issues of international relations. The National Leader analyzed the current global situation, describing it as complex, yet emphasizing that there are always opportunities for stabilization through peaceful dialogue. He urged the world to transition toward civilized negotiations, using the mechanisms and tools provided by the United Nations.
Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov stressed that Turkmenistan, as a neutral state, does not involve itself in conflicts and strictly rejects the use of force in international affairs. He pointed out that for Turkmenistan, this is not merely a political stance but, fundamentally, a moral question. According to him, wars strike at the very heart of human lives—shattering destinies, dreams, and hopes in an instant. Therefore, he argued that efforts should not be doubled for waging war, but tenfold efforts should be made to eliminate them entirely.
To illustrate his point, the National Leader quoted the wise words of the prominent medieval Turkmen statesman, Bairam Khan Turkmen: "A victory in war is nothing compared to the ability to live in peace." This historical reference reinforced his message that war has never brought true happiness to humanity. He noted that once a shot is fired, it never returns, and it does not distinguish between a soldier, a civilian, or a child—it only brings tragedy and loss.
Concluding his statement, the Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty expressed his sincere wish for a peaceful and happy life for all of humanity. He reiterated that looking back at history, "war has never truly won." This powerful message serves as a call for global unity and a reaffirmation of Turkmenistan's commitment to peacebuilding and humanitarian values. Smaller than wolves but slightly larger than foxes, jackals feed on small rodents, carrion, plants, and fruits. Their high ecological adaptability allows them to settle efficiently into newly colonized territories without human interference.
However, their entry into Western and Southern Europe, including countries like France and Spain, poses potential ecological consequences. Environmentalists warn that the arrival of jackals could disrupt local ecosystems and threaten endangered ground-nesting steppe birds and smaller wildlife across the Iberian Peninsula.
